About Dr. Povazhnyak

Dr. Alex Povazhnyak has graduated Polytechnic National University in Lviv, Ukraine with Masters of Science in Biochemistry in 2002. His personal life saving experience with Chiropractic has led him to pursue this profession shortly afterwards. 

Dr. Povazhnyak graduated with Doctor of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, TX, which is one of the oldest chiropractic colleges in the country. The program is focused on the latest research and science behind holistic approach to restore body's healing properties. He also received additional training and Board certification in Chiropractic Physiotherapy which is focused on chiropractic approach to rehabilitation and regeneration of the musculoskeletal system. 
He also went to Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC which is famed for strong adherence to traditional practice of the art and philosophy of chiropractic care with the emphasis on manual adjustment and manipulation of the vertebral column in order to release central and peripheral nervous system. 

He completed General and Specialty Massage Therapy program at State University of Hawaii, while owning a chiropractic clinic on Oahu, Hawaii.   There he received certification in multiple massage techniques, including medical massage while working on cancer patients. 

Dr. Povazhnyak is highly proficient in various chiropractic techniques including: Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), Sacro-Occipital Technique, Upper Cervical Chiropractic, Torque Release Technique, Toggle Recoil, Extremity Practitioner, Activator, Webster technique and Sports Chiropractic. He works with elite level athletes through FAKTR Rehab System. 
Dr. Povazhnyak specializes in Geriatric Chiropractic while creating gentle and unique plans of care for the elderly patients in order to reach the maximum potential of each individual.

One of his passions is working with children through Pediatric Chiropractic as well as providing care through and post pregnancy.
